Surgical Treatment of Adrenal Tumors

Abstract
This was a clinical analysis of 26 cases of adrenal tumor which has been experienced at the Department of Surgery, College of Medicine, Korea University during 10 years between January 1984 and December 1993. There were 5 cases of Cushing's
syndrome, 6
cases of primary aldosteronism, 5 cases of pheochromocytoma, 4 cases of adrenal cancer, 2 cases of adrenal adenoma and 4 cases of neuroblastoma. Twenty of 26 cases were operated by an ipsilateral adrenalectomy. Six patients were treated
nonoperatively
which were three adrenal cancer, one pheochromocytoma, and two neuroblastoma. Anterior approach was applied in 16 cases, and 4 cases were posterior approach. Objective and subjective improvements had been noted in all 20 operated cases.
Postoperative
clinical improvement and normalization of biochemical criteria were observed. Postoperative complications developed in 4 cases; all were wound in fection and seroma formation.
